About the Company

The General Board of Pension and Health Benefits is a not-for-profit administrative agency of The United Methodist Church. We supervise and administer retirement plans, investment funds and health and welfare benefit plans. Our participants are active and retired clergy and lay employees of the Church. We care for those who serve by providing investment and benefit services that honor the mission and principles of The United Methodist Church.  

 

About the Person

Sarah Hirsen joined GBPHB in 1997 as Associate General Counsel and was promoted to General Counsel in 2002. Over the years, she served as liaison to the agency Board of Directors’ Audit, Legislation and Appeals Committees, supported the Executive Committee, and served as Corporate Secretary. Over the past three years, she also supported the interests of 38 denominations as Secretary/Treasurer for the Church Alliance and, prior to that, as Secretary of the Church Benefits Association.
