The City of North Miami was incorporated on February 5, 1926. North Miami operates under a council-manager form of government. The city’s charter provides for a mayor, elected city-wide that serves up to two consecutive two-year terms; and four council members elected by district, who each serve no more than two consecutive four-year terms.
