Barnes-Jewish Hospital is the flagship of BJC HealthCare, one of the largest employers in Missouri. BJC HealthCare has ranked as one of the top workplaces among large employers in the seventh annual St. Louis Post-Dispatch Top Workplaces for 2018 program. BJC is one of 150 Greater St. Louis employers to receive the award and the only health care system to make the list. Barnes-Jewish Hospital is consistently ranked as one of the nation`s leading hospitals by U.S. News and World Report and for 22 consecutive years has been named to the magazine`s Honor Roll of "America`s Best Hospitals." Barnes-Jewish is home to 13 specialties ranked among the best nationally including cancer; digestives disorders; ear, nose, and throat; eyes; geriatrics; gynecology; heart and heart surgery; hormonal disorders; kidney disease; neurology and neurosurgery; orthopedics; respiratory disorders; and urology. A 1,500-member medical staff, supported by a house staff of more than 800 residents, interns, and fellows, in addition to nurses and other health care professionals, offers exceptional care. The Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Missouri and within a 250-mile radius. Siteman also is a member of the prestigious National Comprehensive Cancer Network.
