Pete Buttigieg is running for President in 2020. This is a now or never moment for our nation. These crises are years in the making, yet Washington politicians have failed to act. Pete understands the urgency of these problems as a Midwestern mayor who has seen his hometown ravaged by corporate recklessness and as a veteran who served in one of the endless post-9/11 wars. The Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation was created in 1966 to provide decent, safe, and sanitary housing within the Cherokee Nation. Today, nearly fifty years later, we continue that original mission and are dedicated to providing housing assistance through a number of programs. Nearly 6,000 families are assisted with housing through the HACN on a number of programs. As a sub-recipient of NAHASDA funding for the Cherokee Nation we administer low-income rental housing, rental assistance, college housing, and manage a number of homes previously constructed with federal housing funds. Today, the HACN has renewed its commitment to providing new construction opportunities to Cherokee families. Through an innovative approach we offer a New Home Construction Program. This program uses funding outside of federal grant programs to provide housing. Preference is given to families that own their own land or has a family member that is willing to donate land for construction.
Brown County is a county in west-central Texas. As of the 2020 census, the population was 38,095.Its county seat is Brownwood.The county was founded in 1856 and organized in 1858.[4] It is named for Henry Stevenson Brown, a commander at the Battle of Velasco, an early conflict between Texians and Mexicans.
