The University of Montana Foundation’s mission is to increase philanthropic support to ensure the University of Montana’s excellence, access and affordability, focusing fundraising activity on the priorities set by the University and building and maintaining relationships with alumni and friends who donate to UM. We also manage an endowment. Earnings from the endowment provide ongoing support for the University. The Foundation is an independent non-profit organization with a Board of Trustees. The Trustees and staff work with University leaders to set fundraising priorities which support the University’s strategic plan. In fiscal year 2015, private support for the University of Montana totaled $52.6 million. Of that, $46 million came from gifts through the UM Foundation. An additional $6.6 million came through private grants to UM.
Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health traces its roots to public health activism at the beginning of the last century, a time of energetic social reform. The School began as the Harvard-MIT School of Health Officers, founded in 1913 as the first professional training program of public health in America. The partnership offered courses in preventive medicine at Harvard Medical School, sanitary engineering at Harvard University and allied subjects at MIT.
As a private, Catholic University, the University of Detroit Mercy offers a unique, student-centered educational experience in the Jesuit and Mercy traditions. Detroit Mercy offers approximately 100 academic programs in fields as diverse as architecture and psychology, business and nursing, teacher education, and engineering.
A two year accredited college located in Central New Jersey, Ocean County College - or OCC - has educational centers all over Ocean County. Currently, there are almost 10,000 student enrolled in courses. Famous alumni include rockers Bruce Springsteen and wrestler Mike Bucci.
