These online educational programs are free, one-hour-long programs that focus on topics such as energy efficiency, polycarbonate glazing solutions, and sustainable design. This has led to a greater grass roots demand for their products. To reduce lead times and improve on-time delivery with key customers, AmeriLux International started AmeriLux Transportation — a trucking company with its own drivers and equipment — in June 2012. AmeriLux Transportation is a direct delivery carrier and regularly operates in the US. With the recent formation of AmeriLux Logistics, AmeriLux now has access to a network of qualified carriers and a wide range of freight shipping services - yet another offering to better serve the marketplace!
The National Basketball Association (NBA) is a professional sports league in North America, established in 1946. Headquartered in New York City, the NBA is one of the four major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada. It is known for its competitive basketball games, iconic players, and extensive global reach. The NBA organizes regular season games, playoffs, and the NBA Finals, attracting millions of viewers worldwide. It also oversees the NBA G League, which serves as a developmental platform for players and staff, and runs Jr. NBA programs to promote basketball among youth. The league is committed to community outreach through NBA Cares, focusing on building facilities and supporting education and health initiatives. With a strong presence in over 200 countries, the NBA utilizes advanced technology and media platforms to engage fans and enhance their experience.
Blue Jay Racing is a student-run design team open to all undergraduate students. The program was founded in 2004. The team competes annually in three international events put on by the Society of Automotive Engineers. Students design, build, and race a single seat off-road vehicle against a total of ~200 teams representing 14 nations and nearly 4,000 young engineers. The award-winning program offers student engineers an educational experience that goes beyond what the classroom can offer. Aside from the technical knowledge gained, the team-based skills learned through such a rigorous endeavor develops leaders well prepared to enter industry and academia. At each competition the team competes in four of six dynamic events (Acceleration, Maneuverability, Rock Crawl, Suspension and Traction, Hill Climb and Sled Pull) as well as three static events (a sales presentation, design presentations and a cost report). To cap off the competition, the team will also race in a grueling four-hour endurance race. Team members learn as much at competition as from designing and building their vehicle throughout the rest of the year. In addition to their own learning it is also important to the team that all members participate. At competition the team is always working, whether repairing their vehicle or planning and preparing for the next days events. With so much to do and so little time every member contributes to the teams success.
