Established in 1910, The Urban League is the nation`s oldest and largest community- based movement devoted to empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream. Today, the National Urban League, headquartered in New York City, spearheads the non-partisan efforts of its local affiliates. The Northern Kentucky Tri-County Economic Development Corporation (Tri-ED) was created in 1987 as a non-profit organization, blending public and private funds to enhance the business climate and to foster a spirit of regional cooperation among the Northern Kentucky counties of Boone, Kenton, and Campbell. Mission Health, based in Asheville, North Carolina, is the state’s sixth-largest health system and the region’s only not-for-profit, independent community hospital system governed and managed exclusively in western North Carolina. Other Mission Health member hospitals include Angel Medical Center in Franklin, Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, Highlands-Cashiers Hospital in Highlands, McDowell Hospital in Marion and Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard.
