About the Person

Tim is executive vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary for Target. His areas of responsibility include the law department, government affairs, corporate security, and Target Brands, Inc., the corporation’s brand management subsidiary. His past responsibilities have also included media relations, compliance and assets protection. Tim also serves as an executive leader for Target’s corporate responsibility efforts. In 1994, Tim joined Target as assistant general counsel and was promoted to his current role in 2004. Tim is a member of the University of Minnesota’s Lillehai Heart Institute’s Advisory Committee and participates in programs at the University of Minnesota Law School, including its Corporate Institute. Tim is also a member of the Greater Twin Cities United Way Board of Directors and a member of the Brookings Institution’s Metropolitan Policy Program. He has also served as a board member of Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis and he was a member of the board of governors of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice, Minnesota Continuing Legal Education,  and the University of St. Thomas School of Law. Tim graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Economics and from the University of Minnesota Law School.
