The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is an independent agency that was established by the Energy Reorganization Act of 1974 and began operations in 1975. NRC`s mission is to license and regulate the Nation`s civilian use of radioactive materials to provide reasonable assurance of adequate protection of public health and safety and to promote the common defense and security and to protect the environment. In carrying out its mission it exercises the following vision: Demonstrate the Principles of Good Regulation (independence, openness, efficiency, clarity, and reliability) in performing our mission. NRC`s scope of responsibility includes: the regulation of commercial nuclear power plants, research and test reactors, nuclear fuel cycle facilities, medical, academic, and industrial uses of radioactive materials; the decommissioning of these facilities and sites; and, the transport, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials and wastes. NRC issues licenses for civilian uses of radioactive materials, oversees the licensees, and certifies standard nuclear reactor designs and spent fuel storage casks and transportation packages. It also licenses the import and export of radioactive materials; participates in international nuclear activities, including multilateral and bilateral safety and security activities; and works closely with its international counterparts to enhance nuclear safety and security worldwide. To accomplish its overall mission NRC has identified two Strategic Goals—To ensure the safe and secure use of radioactive materials. We need a wide variety of administrative and technical staff to accomplish our objectives. We hire engineers, scientists, security specialists, information technology professionals, financial analysts, and a range of other occupations. We`re constantly looking for outstanding individuals at all levels – recent grads, mid-career professionals, and senior leaders.
The mission of the Auditor of Public Accounts` office is to provide independent, accurate, and timely audits, reviews, or investigations of the financial operations of Nebraska State and local governments. We will provide this information, as required by statute, to all policymakers and taxpayers through written reports and our Internet based Budget and Audit databases. We will maintain a professionally prepared staff, utilizing up to date technology, and following current Government Auditing Standards.

GENESEE COUNTY is located in western New York State. The County is 550 square miles with a population of 60,370 as of the 2000 census. The County is divided into thirteen towns, six villages and the City of Batavia, the county seat. Genesee County is located midway between the major urban areas of Rochester and Buffalo. Except for Batavia, the County is quite rural. Genesee County has New York State`s highest percentage of classified farmland, three of the top 100 vegetable farms nationwide and is first in agriculture sales statewide. More that two-thirds of Genesee County`s acreage is used for agriculture and employs more than 1,500 workers. The county also has rich mineral deposits of gypsum, limestone, natural gas and salt. Hundreds of small business are scattered throughout Genesee County; the top eleven manufactures employ between 200 to 400 workers each. Genesee County is a non-chartered county and the government consists of the elected nine-member Genesee County Legislature and the appointed County Manager who is responsible for overseeing and coordinating 28 County Departments. Genesee County also operates Genesee County Airport, Genesee County Nursing Home, Genesee County Forest and Parks, and supports the Holland Land Museum and the Genesee Chamber of Commerce. The County operates on a calendar fiscal year.
Edgecombe is a rural County situated approximately one hour`s drive east of Raleigh and two hour`s drive inland from North Carolina`s beaches. With a population of approximately 56,000 persons, the County maintains a firm agricultural base while supporting advanced manufacturing. The County continues to maintain its famous charm and hospitality. Tarboro, the County Seat, is particularly beautiful and offers brick paved sidewalks, a Downtown Historic District and the historic Town Common among other attractions. All of our other 10 municipalities offer something unique to what makes Edgecombe County great. The city of Rocky Mount is the largest municipality in the county. Rocky Mount is divided into two (2) counties, Nash and Edgecombe. Within 30 minutes drive are East Carolina University, Barton College and Wesleyan College. Medical facilities within the County include Edgecombe County Health Department, Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, Vidant Multispecialty Clinic, Freedom Hill Health Center, and OIC Medical Center. Within thirty minutes drive is the nationally known East Carolina University Medical Center and Vidant Medical Center. Edgecombe County`s location offers a mild year-round climate with four distinct seasons. After a brief winter snowfall or two, we know that it won`t be long until the Dogwoods begin to bloom. After a few days of hot sunbathing days in summer, we know that the local maple trees will soon begin to show the brilliant colors of fall.
