We are a familiar face and trusted friend in central and southwest Minnesota but with a new name. The new name – United Community Action Partnership, Inc. (UCAP) – was adopted through the merging of two organizations (Heartland Community Action and Western Community Action) with a rich history of helping people, changing lives, and working to eliminate poverty in the lives of people in Cottonwood, Jackson, Kandiyohi, Lincoln, Lyon, McLeod, Meeker, Redwood, and Renville counties. UCAP is a joint effort to bring together area resources to effectively and efficiently address the growing needs of our local communities in southwest Minnesota. We continue to hold true to our history of being a “grass-roots” private nonprofit organization that is represented and led by the communities we serve.
The mission of the South Dakota Shakespeare Festival (SDSF) is to increase the cultural, artistic and educational offerings of the state of South Dakota and surrounding regions through professional Shakespeare performances and arts education events delivered in a lively and accessible format. With Shakespeare`s work and words as our platform, we aim to ignite imaginations, stimulate a love and appreciation for language, foster a deeper understanding of humanity, cultivate a connection to history and world cultures, and stimulate audience members to think, feel, and learn about themselves and their local and global communities. By creating highly accessible work that entertains and enlightens individuals, strengthens communities, and increases the artistic offerings of the region, the South Dakota Shakespeare Festival seeks to fulfill an important cultural and educational need throughout the state and Great Plains Region.
The American Society of Hematology (ASH) is the worlds largest professional society of hematologists dedicated to furthering the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders affecting the blood. For more than 50 years, the Society has led the development of hematology as a discipline by promoting research, patient care, education, training, and advocacy in hematology. The official journal of ASH is Blood (www.bloodjournal.org), the most cited peer-reviewed publication in the field, which is available weekly in print and online.
