Brigham Young University (BYU), located in Provo, Utah, United States, is a private, coeducational research university owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is the oldest existing institution within the LDS Church Educational System, is America`s largest religious university, and has the second-largest private university enrollment in the United States. Approximately 98% of the 34,000 students at BYU are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.The university`s primary focus is on undergraduate education, but it also has 68 master`s and 25 doctoral degree programs, including a Juris Doctor program.

The university system started as the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines in Fairbanks, later renamed the University of Alaska. That first year, the campus was a single two-story frame building and had just six students. The school was renamed the University of Alaska in 1935. In 1954, Anchorage Community College (now known as the University of Alaska Anchorage) was incorporated into the University of Alaska. That next year, Juneau Community College was established and was later named the University of Alaska Southeast. The UA system`s largest hubs (UAA, UAF and UAS) are separately accredited institutions, as is Prince William Sound Community College in Valdez. Study areas include short-course workforce training, associate degrees, bachelor`s and master`s degrees, as well as doctorates. Programs include a wide array of the sciences, engineering, teacher and early childhood education, business, journalism and communications, aviation, health occupations, history, English, the arts and humanities and many others. Per the Alaska Constitution, an 11-member board of regents governs the system. The system president serves as the board`s chief executive officer. Chancellors for each of the hubs—UAA, UAF and UAS--report to the president.
The Ventura County Community College District is a public community college district serving residents in Ventura County. The District`s three colleges-Moorpark, Oxnard, and Ventura-offer programs for transfer to four-year colleges and universities, occupational and vocational training, basic skills instruction, as well as economic development and continuing education for cultural growth, life enrichment, and skills improvement. Each of the colleges provides a wide range of general programs and services to students, as well as focusing on its own unique and specialty areas. As of Fall 2013, VCCCD served 31,995 students.
