Floyd County Medical Center is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic located in the charming northeast Iowa river town of Charles City, Iowa. FCMC hospital was built in 1965, with a major addition in 1990, and a remodeling of the entire 2nd floor in 2008. All of our patient rooms are single rooms with private bathrooms. They feature wood flooring and cabinetry, in-room computers, and each room has its own thermostat control. Our newly remodeled, secure Birth Center features 3 state-of-the-art birthing suites, each with a spacious bathroom, kitchenette, recliner, glider, and a pull-out couch for family members. FCMC hospital is licensed and accredited by the Iowa Department of Inspection and Appeals and is a member of the Iowa Hospital Association. FCMC is governed by a seven-member elected Board of Trustees. At FCMC we strive to provide high quality and safe care to our patients, with respect and consideration to their families.
