Avionica specializes in complete flight data and communications management solutions comprising both airborne avionics and ground support equipment. We understand that an innovative product is only part of a complete solution, so Avionica also designs and maintains many of our own Supplemental Type Certificates, and works with a worldwide network of installation service providers to provide turnkey aftermarket solutions. Many of our STCs include foreign validations from Brazil (ANAC), the European Union (EASA), and China (CAAC). We also provide support to OEMs such as Bombardier, Gulfstream, Embraer, and others who install our products in their production aircraft.
General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems provides the U.S. military and its allies around the world, an extensive range of weapons systems needed at all levels of strategic and tactical operations. For ground forces, we manufacture heavy machine guns, grenade launchers, crew-served weapons and munitions of all calibers. As well as family of lightweight vehicles for expeditionary and special forces. We produce weapons systems and ammunition for U.S. Navy shipboard applications. For airborne platforms, we produce weapons for fighter aircraft, including high-speed Gatling guns for all U.S. fixed-wing and rotary military aircraft. Our munitions portfolio covers the full breadth of naval, air and ground forces applications across all calibers and weapons platforms. Aerion`s AS2 supersonic business jet is poised to revolutionize global mobility with first flight scheduled for 2023 and certification in 2025. The AS2 is as much as 70 percent faster than subsonic business jets. Supersonic cruise speed is Mach 1.4, about 1,000 mph. It saves as much as three hours across the Atlantic and more than five hours across the Pacific. Aerion and Boeing partnered in February 2019 to develop this ground-breaking aircraft. Boeing has made a significant investment in Aerion to accelerate technology development and aircraft design, and unlock supersonic air travel for new markets. In October 2018, Aerion and GE Aviation unveiled GE`s quiet and efficient Affinity engine, the first supersonic engine in more than 50 years.
