Cumberland Heights’ 170 acre campus is located along the banks of the Cumberland River in Nashville, Tennessee. Surrounded by wooded hills and free of the distractions of city life, it provides the ideal setting for recovery. Forty years ago, chemical dependency was widely believed to be a moral weakness. This belief created a social stigma that prevented millions from reaching out for help. Today we understand that addiction is not caused by moral weakness or a lack of personal character – it is a medical disease over which the addict has no control. As with other diseases, without help the outcome is often tragic. Fortunately, there is help. Since we opened our doors 40 years ago, Cumberland Heights has touched the lives of more than 200,000 individuals in recovery – and over 10,000 last year alone. Four decades of experience has taught us that recovery is not only possible, it’s a path that no one has to walk alone. Our staff is committed to providing the highest quality care possible. Our treatment programs encompass the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions of recovery through professional excellence, the principles of the Twelve Steps, and a safe, loving environment.

The story of Sunrise began with a cornerstone ceremony held in fall of 1960. Known then as the Martin Luther Home, we were a nonprofit organization founded to provide "specialized housing" to seniors and physically challenged individuals. Business and church leaders sought community-wide support - receiving especially strong backing from the area`s Lutheran churches. These visionaries established Sunrise on a sprawling hill with room to grow. And grow it did! Senior nursing care was soon added, and the facility was renamed Sunrise Manor. Over the years, services steadily expanded. Sunrise Manor strategically evolved into Sunrise Retirement Community - a nonprofit, comprehensive residential living community that provided a variety of senior living choices for members of the Siouxland community. The independent cottages of Sunrise Hills were built. Assisted living options were introduced. Innovative memory care centers we introduced, as Sunrise was a pioneer in memory care. Single homes were developed. Most recently, Sunrise unveiled The Pointe at Sunrise - a 62-home apartment neighborhood that is the first of its kind in eastern Sioux City. On June 28, 2012, Sunrise moved their residents and belongings into a new state-of-the-art health center for nursing and assisted living, replacing the old "Manor" which served Siouxland seniors for over 50 years.

Skills for Rhode Island`s Future is a public-private partnership working to match businesses that have current, unmet hiring needs with qualified, unemployed or underemployed job seekers in the state of Rhode Island. Skills for Rhode Island’s Future will serve as a business intermediary dedicated to returning the unemployed and underemployed to work by focusing on the hiring needs of local employers. This unique demand-driven approach allows Skills for Rhode Island’s Future to serve both the business and job seeker communities creating economic opportunity and regional progress. Skills for Rhode Island’s Future is modeled after Skills for Chicagoland’s Future, a successful demand-driven intermediary based in Chicago. Skills for Chicagoland’s Future has placed over 2,700 job seekers back to work with more than 50 employer partners since its inception in 2012. Skills for Rhode Island’s Future is being launched with support from the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training and in partnership with the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce.
