Founded in 1969 by then twenty-year-old New Jersey licensee, Jim Weichert, Weichert, Realtors holds itself out as America’s largest individually-owned real estate organization.   Originally known as a north-east based company owned real estate firm, Weichert Real Estate Affiliates began offering franchises 5 years ago in 2002. Three years later Entrepreneur Magazine named them as one of the fastest growing franchises (of all types). Calling itself real estate’s only “business format” franchise, the franchise network has rapid grown and by end of 2007 stood at 350 affiliated offices. Calling itself real estate’s only “business format” franchise, the franchise network has rapid grown and by end of 2007 stood at 350 affiliated offices. Add another 200 company-owned offices and this group operates in 35 states generating revenues in excess of $73 billion in 2006, with some 22,000 sales associates and over 2500 employees.   Weichert Realtors is a member of The Real Estate Companies of the World Network. In 2007 Weichert Realtors was also recognized as one of the Top 10 Titans of the Real Estate Industry.
