Our goal is to ensure that all children, especially those from low-income families have access to early childhood opportunities that support their healthy development and help each child reach their full potential. America`s children should have equitable access to high-quality learning experiences with the federal government helping to support those most in need. The overwhelming research demonstrates that high-quality early care and education is a crucial component of a child`s healthy development. This is particularly true when one considers the role of quality early childhood education programs in offsetting sustained toxic stress and adversity often associated with living in poverty. In addition to the important health, nutrition and family economic supports that are vital to young children from birth through age five, quality early childhood education is proven to help kids from low-income families be successful in school, earn higher wages, live healthier lives, raise stronger families, and contribute to society. Unfortunately, low-income families are the least likely to have access to affordable, high-quality options for their children – particularly infants and toddlers. FFYF works to sustain and expand the support for early learning that exists at the federal level, while identifying and advancing new and innovative ways to increase access to quality early childhood education for children from low-income families. We help align best practices with the best possible policies and work with advocacy groups and policymakers on both sides of the aisle to identify federal solutions that work for children, families and taxpayers, as well as states and communities. Early childhood development is a practical, non-partisan issue—so we collaborate with a diverse and wide range of federal and state advocates, business and thought leaders, and policymakers to help build consensus and craft early childhood policies that provide lasting economic and social returns.
The Maryland Food Bank is a nonprofit hunger-relief organization at the forefront of the movement to end hunger throughout Maryland. For more than 35 years, we have partnered with communities across the state to distribute food to individuals and families in need. Through carefully crafted programs, the food bank aims to meet the immediate needs of Marylanders while simultaneously working to find long-term ways to reduce hunger statewide.
The International Mission Board partners with churches to empower limitless missionary teams who are evangelizing, discipling, planting, and multiplying healthy churches, and training leaders among unreached peoples and places for the glory of God. Over 6,000 people groups - 1.7 billion people - still live with little or no access to the Gospel. We want to vastly expand our missions efforts for the spread of the gospel to every people group on the planet. IMB is an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention, the nation`s largest evangelical denomination, claiming more than 40,000 churches with nearly 16 million members.
Collective Change is a crowdfunding platform for nonprofits and social causes. Each month will focus on different category of charitable cause. At the beginning of every month, we ll put up several causes within that months category. You can check out your options and vote for your favorite. With your $15 annual membership, 12 of those dollars are funneled into a collective donation pool. $1 for each month. By doing this, each monthly donation represents the number of people who contributed to that cause. As our community grows, so do those monthly donations. Think about it! If a million people came together with just $1 each month, we will be raising a million dollars each month for a new cause!
IndependenceFirst is Metro Milwaukee`s FIRST resource when people have questions regarding access and disability. We offer over 20 Programs & Services to people with disabilities of all kinds, in all age groups and provide programs on disability awareness, employment tips and access to the general community. Over 50% of our staff, managers and Board have disabilities themselves and this peer approach leads to excellent outcomes.
