NCLEJ was founded in 1965, in the heyday of the civil rights movement. From the very start, NCLEJ staff joined with southern civil rights lawyers in landmark cases, worked with community-based organizations around the country, won ground-breaking victories in the courts, and achieved major reforms in legislation and agency policies and practices. Through these early successes, NCLEJ demonstrated that the law can be a powerful instrument for improving the lives of the most disadvantaged members of our society. For more than 50 years, NCLEJ has led the way in advancing economic justice across the country through class action litigation and policy advocacy; securing systemic reform in the delivery of income support and related human services; and safeguarding important legal and constitutional rights. Responsible for IT contract management functions, fiscal analysis & planning, and server and desktop support services. This team provides Server and Tier 1, 2, and 3 Help Desk support for the Idaho Consolidated Services (ICS) Messaging system and Active Directory (44 customer agencies), the Department of Administration, and 35+ small agencies and commissions. This team provides 24x7x365 on-call systems support for ICS equipment as well as Monday through Friday 7:30 to 5:00 help desk support and other server support. Consolidated Contract Management: we strive to consolidate multiple agency IT product/service requirements into enterprise-wide procurements and/or contracts. When multiple agency contracts exist with a single vendor, we consolidate those contracts into fewer contracts (perhaps one contract) with that vendor. In addition, we ensure that contractors meet their service obligations in terms of price, delivery, and quality. Fiscal Analysis & Planning: we provide budget forecasting, planning, and oversight for our internal operations as well as for existing and new statewide consolidation activities.

Town Hall in Newington CT - Newington was part of the Town of Wethersfield until 1871. Early names for the area were “Pipestave Swamp,” then “Cow Plain,” and later, “West Farms.” These reflected its use first as a source of staves for making “pipes” (large sized barrels) used in colonial trade, then a pasture for cattle, and eventually, the new farms taken up by descendants of early Wethersfield settlers who had been given grants on the western frontier of their riverside town. By 1721 there were enough new farmers on these grants to request that the General Assembly of the Colony of Connecticut give them the name “Newington.”
