The Charlotte Host Committee, CLT Host 2020, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) not for profit economic development organization with no political affiliation. CLT Host 2020, Inc. is responsible for hosting and funding the 2020 Republican National Convention to be held in Charlotte, North Carolina from August 24 - 27, 2020. As an economic development organization, CLT Host 2020, Inc. will highlight the Queen City`s premier business environment which supports the skilled and diverse workforce responsible for the region`s growth in national and international corporate offices and local businesses. The Charlotte region, North Carolina, and South Carolina offer an undeniable energy, full of passionate people from all walks of life whose differences make our communities stronger. CLT Host 2020, Inc. aims to showcase these characteristics and how our residents have created a world-class convention and event destination that attracts sporting events, corporate functions, and international art and musical tours. CLT Host 2020, Inc. is excited for the 2020 Republican National Convention and the positive experience it will bring for Charlotte, our community, and everyone involved – residents, businesses, and guests. This event will be a tremendous undertaking and will require committed volunteers from across the region, our two states, and the nation. Community Development We partner with city and county elected officials and community leaders to help raise incomes, improve the quality of life for local residents, and help local businesses to thrive. Through federal funding, we oversee vital infrastructure and human services investments that help position communities as favorable for business attraction.
The National Indian Gaming Commission is an independent federal regulatory agency within the Department of the Interior and is committed to the prompt and efficient regulation of the Indian gaming industry, which spans more than 420 gaming establishments, associated with nearly 240 tribes across 28 states. Congress established the agency through the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act in 1988. The Commission`s primary mission is to regulate gaming activities on Indian lands; to ensure that Indian tribes are the primary beneficiaries of gaming revenue; and to assure that gaming is conducted fairly and honestly by both operators and players. To achieve these goals, the Commission provides technical assistance and training to tribes and tribal regulators; conduct audits and background investigations; review and approve Tribal gaming ordinances and when necessary undertakes enforcement actions, including the issuance of violation, assessment of civil fines, and/or issuance of closure orders.
