About the Person

Craig Rainey joined Williams in 1999, where he has served in a variety of legal leadership positions, including senior counsel for Energy Marketing & Trading, and assistant general counsel for the company’s Exploration & Production and Midstream businesses. He was named general counsel for Williams, effective January 1, 2012. Prior to joining Williams, Rainey served on the legal staff of Occidental Petroleum Corp., where he ultimately became associate general counsel for Occidental, and chief counsel for that company’s U.S. oil and gas operations. His previous experience also includes serving as a partner with Batchelor & Johnson, an Oklahoma City law firm, and as a staff attorney for the Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority. Rainey received both his Bachelor of Arts degree and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Oklahoma. He has also completed the Executive Program of the University of Michigan School of Business Administration.
