The Institute for Study Abroad, Butler University (IFSA-Butler) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1988. Our primary goal is to provide quality study abroad opportunities, plus academic and personal support services, for qualified North American undergraduates seeking to earn academic credit through study abroad. While the Institute for Study Abroad has an affiliation with Butler University for transcripts and other purposes, it is a separate organization. IFSA-Butler is organized to assist our students from the time they apply until after they return. Our staff in the U.S. prepare students for the academic and cultural changes that await them, and our offices around the world provide on-site support to help students make the most of their study abroad experiences. IFSA-Butler currently operates programs in Argentina, Australia, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Egypt, England, India, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Peru, the Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Sharjah UAE, Spain and Wales. Institute for Study Abroad is registered in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Harris-Stowe State University`s primary mission, as set forth in Senate Bill 153, is to address the higher education needs of the metropolitan St. Louis region. Toward the fulfillment of this mandate, the University offers a solid General Education curriculum, which serves as the foundation for the University`s various baccalaureate programs in three broad professional areas, including baccalaureate degree programs in business, education, and arts and sciences. In addition, the University is thoroughly committed to meeting to the greatest extent possible the needs of a student population that is diverse in age, culture, ethnicity and experiential backgrounds. In pursuit of its mission, Harris-Stowe State University offers a variety of programs and services that include, but are not limited to: • Recruiting a diverse population of interested and qualified students, faculty and staff. • Supporting student development through academic support services, extracurricular activities, student government, cultural and community involvement, professional organizations and honor societies. • Enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the student`s learning environment through a variety of innovative and creative instructional techniques and delivery systems involving modern technology and through day, evening and Saturday courses, which accommodate the students` varying educational and scheduling needs. • Offering a broad and solid general education curriculum that serves as the foundation for professional studies and lifelong learning while accommodating transfer students. • Offering educational experiences that emphasize excellence in all areas and promote the development of effective communication skills, interpersonal growth, critical thinking, workplace readiness and an understanding of and appreciation for diversity. • Participating in educational and collaborative partnerships and outreach programs with business, government and other educational institutions, including K-12 and higher education. • Providing a diverse range of cultural and educational services to the urban community, including in-service educational opportunities for professional growth and development of teachers, educators and other professionals.Conducting ongoing institutional assessment and modifying institutional operations, accordingly.
Indiana State University combines a tradition of strong undergraduate and graduate education with a focus on community and public service. We integrate teaching, research, and creative activity in an engaging, challenging, and supportive learning environment to prepare productive citizens for Indiana and the world.
The San Diego Community College District is the second-largest community college district in California and the sixth largest in the nation, providing credit and noncredit instruction to students through its associate degree, certificate, and general programs. The SDCCD serves approximately 100,000 students annually through three, two-year colleges and seven Continuing Education campuses. The three colleges, San Diego City College, San Diego Mesa College, and San Diego Miramar College, offer associate degrees and certificates in occupational programs that prepare students for entry-level jobs, and arts and sciences programs that transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Continuing Education`s Educational Cultural Complex (ECC) also offers classes leading to associate degrees and certificates. The SDCCD is governed by its five-member, locally elected Board of Trustees and three student members serving on a rotating basis. Shared governance activities involve faculty, students and staff in the development of solutions to key policy and budget issues. The five trustees are elected in even-numbered years to four-year terms by the voters of San Diego. The Chancellor, the District`s chief executive officer, is responsible for carrying out the policies approved by the Board of Trustees.
Harford Community College is a dynamic, open-access institution that provides high quality educational experiences for the community. The College promotes lifelong learning, workforce development, and social and cultural enrichment. Harford Community College addresses the diverse educational needs of Harford County by offering outstanding educational opportunities to students of all ages and abilities. Higher education is life changing and provides opportunities only limited by a student’s desire to work hard to achieve a goal. In addition to over 70 degree and certificate programs, the College offers a wide range of noncredit courses and programs many of which help train employees for new careers or job advancement. In addition, there are programs for children, courses for personal enrichment, and classes to take just for fun.
