About the Person
Ellen Oran Kaden oversees Campbell's global Legal department, the Office of the Corporate Secretary, the Office of Government Affairs, and the company's Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability, and Community Affairs functions. She is the principal advisor to the Board of Directors and the CEO on legal and corporate governance matters. Ellen reports to Denise Morrison, President and Chief Executive Officer, and is a member of the Corporate Leadership Team. Prior to joining Campbell in April 1998, Ellen was Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of CBS Inc. She began her career as a member of the Faculty of Law at Columbia University, where she taught contracts, civil procedure and commercial law, and later practiced law at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York City. She is a Trustee Emerita of Columbia University, where she served as a trustee for 12 years and as Chair of the Audit Committee. Ellen earned her B.A. degree from Cornell University and was a Graduate Fellow of the Danforth Foundation at the University of Chicago. After earning her J.D. degree from Columbia University School of Law, she was a law clerk to the Honorable Marvin E. Frankel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
