New York, NY-based Skanska has announced the Resignation of Kenneth A. Schuhmacher as General Counsel

 

About the Company

Skanska Commercial Development acquires, develops, leases and divests commercial properties located in select core urban markets in the US and Europe. Most of our projects are self-financed and over the last 25 years we have invested on average $500 MUSD of Skanska capital annually. In the last five years we have invested $3 billion of Skanska capital in new ground-up speculative buildings in nine countries and we have delivered 11 million square feet of mainly class A sustainable office buildings. Skanska Commercial Development started operating in the US in 2009, focusing on Class A office and multifamily buildings in select urban locations. We develop properties in Boston, DC, Houston and Seattle and have a portfolio of five million square feet in the US.

 

About the Person

Kenneth A. Schuhmacher is a partner in the Energy & Infrastructure Group of Orrick’s New York office. Mr. Schuhmacher has over twenty years of experience in development and project financings, privatizations, and acquisitions, both in the United States and abroad for infrastructure projects, power projects (including IPPs), and oil and gas matters. He has represented developers, borrowers, lenders, multilaterals, export credit agencies, issuers, off-takers, governments, and national utilities in all phases of development, financing, and acquisition of U.S. and international projects, including projects in the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Indian sub-continent. Mr. Schuhmacher has extensive experience in all phases of project development and financing, including: project structuring; bid and risk analysis; drafting and negotiating equity and joint venture arrangements, project agreements (including availability and revenue risk concessions), construction contracts, operation and maintenance agreements, and government supports and guarantees; and advising on, drafting, and negotiating financing and security agreements for a wide variety of project financings including bank, bond, ECA, multilateral, TIFIA and multi-source financings. Prior to joining Orrick, Mr. Schuhmacher was Commercial Director & General Counsel at Skanska Infrastructure Development North America, one of the world's leading infrastructure investors, where he had overall legal responsibility for all of its North American projects and transactions, including the successful financial close of the Elizabeth River Crossings Project. Before joining Skanska, Mr. Schuhmacher was a partner in the Project Finance Group at Latham & Watkins. Mr. Schuhmacher has been recognized by Chambers as a top projects lawyer.
