We are a familiar face and trusted friend in central and southwest Minnesota but with a new name. The new name – United Community Action Partnership, Inc. (UCAP) – was adopted through the merging of two organizations (Heartland Community Action and Western Community Action) with a rich history of helping people, changing lives, and working to eliminate poverty in the lives of people in Cottonwood, Jackson, Kandiyohi, Lincoln, Lyon, McLeod, Meeker, Redwood, and Renville counties. UCAP is a joint effort to bring together area resources to effectively and efficiently address the growing needs of our local communities in southwest Minnesota. We continue to hold true to our history of being a “grass-roots” private nonprofit organization that is represented and led by the communities we serve.

Since 1926, GCSAA has been the top professional association for the men and women who manage golf courses in the United States and worldwide. From its headquarters in Lawrence, Kan., the association provides education, information and representation to more than 19,000 members in more than 72 countries. GCSAA`s mission is to serve its members, advance their profession and enhance the enjoyment, growth and vitality of the game of golf. The Environmental Institute for Golf, the philanthropic organization of the GCSAA, is a collaborative effort of the environmental and golf communities, dedicated to strengthening the compatibility of golf with the natural environment. The Institute concentrates on delivering programs and services involving research, education and outreach that communicate the best management practices of environmental stewardship on the golf course.
