The medical school was created in unprecedented partnership with local taxpayers, who in 2012 voted to support a vision for better health in Austin and Travis County. Dell Medical School and its teaching hospital, Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas, are part of a vibrant health district that is developing in downtown Austin. The district includes three Dell Medical School buildings with 600,000 square feet of space dedicated to innovative education, care and research. The Lake Forest Schools are divided into two districts: District 67 and District 115. District 67 is an elementary district, which includes three Kindergarten through 4th grade schools (Cherokee, Everett, and Sheridan), and one middle school for grades 5-8 (Deer Path). District 67 serves the community of Lake Forest only. Graduates of District 67 attend Lake Forest High School (District 115), which serves the communities of Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood. Elementary students from Lake Bluff and Knollwood attend Lake Bluff Elementary School District 65. District 65 has a student enrollment of approximately 900 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. Students in Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade attend Lake Bluff Elementary School, and students in grades 6-8 attend Lake Bluff Middle School. Graduates of District 65 also attend Lake Forest High School.
Fort Hays State University is a thriving liberal and applied arts, a state-assisted institution in western Kansas with an enrollment of approximately 14,210 students. It has four colleges — Arts and Sciences, Education and Technology, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Health and Life Sciences — and a Graduate School. It also has a Virtual College that delivers courses electronically throughout Kansas and beyond. FHSU offers bachelor`s and master`s degrees in many fields and provides a wide variety of cultural and intellectual resources, not only for its faculty, staff, and students but for the western Kansas region and beyond. Fort Hays State occupies the southwest corner of Hays, Kan., a city of about 20,000 people located halfway between Kansas City and Denver on Interstate 70. The city and its people make their livings from across a wide spectrum of industries-agriculture, education, light manufacturing, medical care, oil, retail, and technology. The university is fully accredited by several national agencies. We invite that type of inspection to prove that we are providing our students with the kind of education that we promise them. FHSU is one of six state-assisted institutions of higher education and is governed by a Board of Regents appointed by the governor of the state of Kansas.
